Turned on the sound system and randomly picked a song. Eliot was hanging out in the kitchen and started dancing around. Captured a few minutes of it on video. We had a great laugh together when she was finished.

Declan and Eliot got ready for the big game by donning their Vancouver 2010 red mittens and grabbing their Canadian flags. We put on the classic Stompin’ Tom Connors song and let the dancing begin.

We haven’t forgotten our loyal readers

We’re back with an update. It’s been a fun summer so far with lots more on the horizon.

There were some photos from the last third of June that we’d yet to put up online. They are of Eliot and Declan goofing around on the floor in the basement. Eliot shows off her roll-over abilities which she acquired back then. You can view them here.

In July, Eliot started the transition from mommy milk to people food. Her “independent” personality trait emerged as she clearly wanted to feed herself and navigate with newfound crawling skills. Lots of quality weekend time was spent hanging out in the backyard on warm sunny days. Declan enjoyed the live lobsters we let loose on the kitchen floor one Saturday evening. A mini-fair at the top of the street brought a farm animal petting area, pony rides, and face painting to the neighbourhood.

August kicked off with a visit from Gramps, Josie and Bo. Hat making, subway & streetcar rides as well as Gramps usual hamming it up activities got the month off to a great start. Lots more ahead with some cottage visits planned and preparations for Auntie Mary’s wedding in September.

Paula and Owen come for a visit

The month of May kicked off with a visit from the Aunt Paula and cousin Owen. Photos from their trip to Ontario are up here. All six cousins got together for the first time ever during their visit.

It’s been a busy month

We took a lot of photos this past month. More than 100 new pictures are now online. The site design has been updated as well with a little more tweaking in the next couple of days.

On the last day of March, we lost our great friend Stephanie Lane. We miss Steph already and only with time will we truly understand the far-reaching impact she had on us all.

Rich, Sara, Jen, Laurence, Lara, Gatsby, Chris and Jenny joined us at our house to celebrate Steph’s life. Hank and Cheryl stopped by as well. Half-finished Tom Collins were had by all. The old vinyl collection was dragged out and spun on the wheels of steel. Lots of old classics and Queen’s favourites hit the decks. Great stories and memories were shared. We spent some mornings goofing around the house with Declan and Eliot. Next up was the first of two trips to Hagarsville to celebrate a birthday.

Easter started with an egg hunt around the house complete with special clues and notes left by the Easter Bunny. The four of us loaded up the car and headed over to Grandma’s for supper.

Declan had the honour of feeding Eliot her first meal. Lots of giggles and funny faces as Eliot sampled the finest mush that Mom could find.

Auntie Holly hosted her second birthday party of the month. The boys played, wrestled and helped Everette enjoy her first birthday.

Back from Big White

The four of us returned to Toronto after a great trip to Big White & Kelowna. The snow was awesome and the company outstanding as always. A few mishaps on the way out with getting stuck behind snowplows on the way to the airport and six of our eight bags being delayed for a day and more. It’s a little tough to leave in a rental when both your kids car seats didn’t make the flight. Eliot got to meet her Aunt Mary and Uncle Tim. Declan got out on skis for the first time.

A new home

We are getting settled into our new space. It’s so nice to move into a place that won’t require major renovations to get it up to our liking. Very happy that we made the decision that we did. We can’t imagine what it would be like to be looking for a new place with the two kids.

There are a number of new photos up in the gallery. Some are from the month of January and February. Highlights include Declan’s birthday party, the family enjoying the new house and bathtime for the kids. Remember to click on a thumbnail to see the larger version of the picture.

Now that the holiday season has settled down and birthday season is just kicking off, we finally got a chance to put some new picture up on the website. It is worth pointing out that within an album (i.e. December 2005) you can click on a small image to see a larger version of it. There are next and previous buttons to navigate within the album. You can also jump back up to the index page in the album by using the navigation just above the photo.

Photos from the days leading up to Christmas are finally up here . They include snaps of Declan at the Science Centre (enjoying an ice cream Oreo sandwich), opening presents and hanging with Norm and Judy.
