Turned on the sound system and randomly picked a song. Eliot was hanging out in the kitchen and started dancing around. Captured a few minutes of it on video. We had a great laugh together when she was finished.

Declan and Eliot got ready for the big game by donning their Vancouver 2010 red mittens and grabbing their Canadian flags. We put on the classic Stompin’ Tom Connors song and let the dancing begin.

June has been a busy month and it’s not even finished. Declan competed in the annual High Park soccer tournament. Eliot had her big dance recital. John had his 20th high school reunion and hosted Janine & Pick for a pre-baby arrival party. Plus some playtime for the kids in the backyard with classmates and at the piano. Eliot did a little modeling and Declan is sporting some new eyeglasses. The kids enjoyed some time tub and reading books to finish off the day.

Mom and Eliot took off to BC to visit Auntie Paula and the boys. Dad and Declan took in their first TFC soccer game. Declan showed off his passion for books this month – if there is a new book around he’s got to read it, right away, from start to finish.

Declan and Eliot worked with John to build a new ramp for jumping bikes. The one they made last year was stolen twenty four hours after it was built. Having better luck this year. Of course, the appropriate attire for jumping your trike is to be wearing PJs.

Declan also showed off his creativity with his tiny Lego “Star Wars” creation.

Declan’s birthday and missing front tooth were both big celebrations this month. Eliot spent some time on the skating pad near Rennie Park. Grandma stopped over for dinner and cupcakes in honour of her birthday.

For our annual ski trip, the family boarded the plane and headed off to Calgary. It was an adventure to say the least. From take-off delays to Eliot’s projectile vomiting during the landing, three separate rental vehicles, an unplanned stay in Calgary, and a speeding ticket on the route to Fernie, BC. We arrived to super cold temperatures (minus 25 and lower). Great time on the slopes as both kids made huge progress with their skiing.

And January is birthday month around the house. Jodi celebrated hers and we delayed Declan’s until we got back from our ski tip.

It’s December and that means Christmas time. Eliot and Declan visited Santa for a morning of stories and playtime. Eliot started dance class. Declan performed in his Christmas concert. Grandpa Larry came by with a truckload of presents. The kids dressed up as the Underwear Twins. A few presents were opened on Christmas Eve and then it was the big day.
